The Unity Sand Ceremony is a unique addition to wedding ceremonies. This is similar to the Unity Candle ceremony, but you cannot light a flame on the public beach in Virginia Beach, so the Unity Candle is not a practical choice for beach weddings.  The Unity Sand Ceremony consists of 3 bottles - one for the bride, one for the groom, and the main bottle that you will pour into. The bottles for the bride and groom are pre-filled with sand (color of choice), and during the ceremony they are prompted to step aside and fill the main bottle with their sand. You can choose to make a neat design or just take turns layering your colors in the bottle. The individual bottles of sand represent the bride and groom each as an individual, and the sands joining together in the bottle represent the couple's two lives and families joining together as one.

The Unity Sand Ceremony is also a wonderful way to include children or other family members in the ceremony. We have smaller matching bottles available.
